Hello! Alda is on the board for WFDYS our frontrunner would like raising three questions:
What does WFDYS mean?
Why is it important that WFD has a youth sector?
What are the youth camps and their purpose?
WFDYS means World Federation of the Deaf Youth Sector and is a part of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD). 129 countries all over the world are members of WFD. WFD is responsible for providing information about human rights to the Deaf people .It is as the United Nations. Because the deaf people is oppressed and deaf ladies too and isn’t going to school. Moreover 97% aren’t taught in sign language.
The youth sector is very important in order to see the future of Deaf community: how does the youth sector know the deaf rights and the leadership in the deaf community? It is necessaire to tramettre its to the youth generation.
WFD Camps are very important because:
Childrens camp 10-12 year old
Junior Youth Camp 13-17 year old
Youth Camp 18-30 year old
Their objectives are: Networking & Cultural exchanges so some deaf young people can be pushing others countries forward for developing their deaf community and favouring the deaf rights, And This is to acquire the deaf culture so it can be credible and can defend the Deaf community with pride: Too, it is to discover the various culture in each country.
