I want to tell you about Hilde Haualand an anthropologist from Norway. Anthropology is a comparing study of Culture and Society; about human beings and the communication between them in the Culture and Community. Deaf Culture is one of the main reasons Hilde wanted to study Anthroplogy. What is Deaf Culture? After many years research there is still no clear definition of what Deaf Culture is. It has many variant from place to place and it varieties from situation to situation. It is common over the world that Deaf meet other Deaf in a bigger gathering, where they make connection to each other. In gathering with other Deaf they find their mirror (their fellows), which is hard for them in the hearing World. Deaf feel equal to each other, and maybe the most important they have a common way to communicate. Deaf from different nationalities are easily connecting to each other through their same experience and language (common way to communicate). Hilde also told us about her research about how a city becomes a Deaf Village in two weeks during Deaflympics.
